“To empower, enlighten, and support our community by offering HIV/AIDS education, counseling, testing and other HIV/AIDS related services” Elder Arvel Neal - Director The Community Outreach Ministry of Praise Temple of Restoration is designed to recognize and approach issues of concern for our congregation and residents in the surrounding area of our church community.
The HIV C.A.P. Services ministry is under the umbrella of Community Outreach and our focus is HIV prevention education, resource information and referral services to our members and to the community at large, adults as well as the teen/young adult population ages 13-21.
Our C.A.P. Services team is certified by the Chicago Department of Public Health to offer and provide HIV Client Centered Counseling along with OraSure Testing for HIV antibodies. Since June 2001, we have been annual participants in National HIV Testing Day, World AIDS Day, Black HIV Awareness Week, the Black Church Week of Prayer for HIV and currently, the RED Campaign.
